University Venture Program Crossroads

The University Venture Program Crossroads (UVP Crossroads) is an educational program that provides college and graduate students the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and the private financing industry. Our students shadow professionals and work with actual investment programs, portfolio companies, accelerators, and venture development organizations. The Organization also provides scholarships to college and graduate students who attend the Organization's educational program.

Our team is comprised of students from universities in the greater Kansas City area and is sponsored by Royal Street Ventures, the Kauffman Foundation, and other local organizations.

What do we do?

Curriculum

A 12 part curriculum taught between 8-10 weeks each fall wherein students will be taught about private finance, entrepreneurship, macroeconomics, and more. Additionally, many class sessions feature guest speakers, including entrepreneurs and notable individuals in the private financial sector.

Signature Events

Students participate in two UVF signature events, Founders' Lab, an office hours event for Founders and Investors and Future Founders' Lab, a podcast interviewing founders and investors from under-capitalized markets sharing their experience with young professionals.

Project Work

The Organization will provide experiential opportunities to students through projects with regional firms, accelerators, and support organizations.
